Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing maintenance activities within the plant. They lead a team of maintenance technicians and electromechanics, ensuring the reliability of production equipment, the effectiveness of preventive and corrective maintenance, and a safe and high-performing work environment. This role is critical to maintaining operational continuity, reducing unplanned downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, support, and engage a team of six electromechanics and industrial mechanics working across two shifts.

Foster professional growth by ensuring ongoing training and skill development.

Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Team Lead.

Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.

Provide technical support for troubleshooting and implementing sustainable corrective actions.

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Participate in the planning and tracking of the maintenance budget.

Keep maintenance records, equipment history, and performance indicators up to date using the maintenance software (CMMS).

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and cost reduction.

Contribute to maintenance and continuous improvement project management.

Promote maintenance best practices and support operational excellence.

Coordinate with suppliers and contractors for repairs and project execution.

Collaborate with the Maintenance & Projects Manager and Maintenance Supervisors from other sites to support equipment improvement and standardization.
Key Competencies

Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Inspiring leadership and strong communication skills.

Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting—or the ability to lead a team with diverse technical expertise.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.

Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) is an asset.

Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety standards.

Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical diagnostics.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.

Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software and/or ERP systems is a plus.

Bilingual – French and English
Education and Experience Required

Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

5 to 7 years of experience supervising technical teams in a production environment.

Hands-on experience with industrial equipment maintenance (mechanical, electrical, automation, etc.).
