Job Description 

 

As a Production Worker, you will work at various work stations to manufacture our screening products. This is not an assembly line so you have the time to do your job well! 

Unionized work environment. At this time, we are looking for individuals to work on finishing/hooking.

 

You will be required to 

  • Establish and operate sheet metal equipment under minimal supervision to fabricate as well as form products per written procedures

  • Maintain and manage machine as well as tooling and area cleanliness

  • Perform simple math to ensure screens are within Major Wire’s tolerances and specifications

  • Cut screen cloth to customer specifications

  • Hook screen ends to customer specifications

  • Stack completed screens for shipping and receiving

  • Check specifications to verify that quality is to customer standards (internal quality control)

  • Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently

  • Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality or safety

  • Complete packaging tasks such as box assembly, packing, and taping

  • Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals

  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management

  • Follow all written and verbal instructions

  • Attend all safety and production training

  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude

 

Essential Skills

  • Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small and delicate product parts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure
  • Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted

 

Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with press brake machine preferred
  • 2yrs experience working with metals is preferred
